HYATTSVILLE, MD— After months of planning and preparation, Zimstone Gallery will open it’s doors on June 21st with an inaugural exhibition aptly titled “House of Stone,” named after the literal translation of the word “Zimbabwe,” the country from which most of the gallery’s represented artists hail.

Zimstone Gallery aims to introduce the Washington, D.C. greater area to some of the most exciting contemporary African Art being created in Zimbabwe today. Through it’s existence, Zimstone aims to create a much-needed outlet for Zimbabwean artists by making their work available to the international public. Support for the artists of Zimbabwe is a cause that is important to the founders of Zimstone Gallery given the current vast need for humanitarian awareness in Zimbabwe.
