The Hyattsville CDC’s signature project is the rehabilitation of the Arcade: where we serve as the City of Hyattsville’s project lead and construction manager for the renovation and construction of a new, 14,000 square foot municipal performing arts and community center in the preserved shell of an historic, former silent movie theater at 4318 Gallatin Street. This facility is planned by the City of Hyattsville to ultimately serve many functions: a new, 230-seat performance space serving the City of Hyattsville and all of the Gateway Arts District; a Heritage Tourism Visitor’s Center for the Anacostia Trails Heritage Area; new meeting space for Hyattsville residents, civic groups, and the Mayor and City Council; a state-of-the-art classroom/training center for City employees; and a small conference and event hosting capacity.
