Local Historian Researches Hyattsville's History In Images PDF Print E-mail

Over the course of a year, Andra Damron compiled a collection of photos, anecdotal stories, and artifacts for her book, "Hyattsville: Images of America", that delves into Hyattsville's history. Her book, written on behalf of the Hyattsville Preservation Association, is part of the publisher's series chronicles histories of small municipalities across the nation. Here's a short snippet:



Hyattsville, at first glance, may be seen as a typical Washington D.C. suburb with growth spurred by the railroad, streetcar, and automobile. Upon further examination, it is clear that the residents of yesterday and today make it a unique place to live with their commitment to community involvement.
