DO YOU ENJOY A GOOD YARD SALE? HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO SELL OR SHOP IN HYATTSVILLE! There are two ways to be a part of this exciting event.

HAVE A YARD SALE IN YOUR YARD:
Join your neighbors throughout the City of Hyattsville on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and have a yard sale! The rain date is April 12, 2008. NO City Yard Sale Permit is required for this one (1) day event. Residents interested in having their addresses included in a map listing the locations of yard sales around the City may contact Michelle Dunklee at 301-985-5000 or by e-mail at mdunklee@hyattsville.org and provide her with your address (street number and street name) and phone number. When you sign up you will be provided with a registration number.

The City will produce a map, which will be available at the City Office as well as on the City website (www.hyattsville.org) beginning on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. The City will advertise the Community Yard Sale in several local papers and will post signage advertising the event at strategic gateway locations around the City. To have your address included in the map and on the website, contact the City by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2008.

JOIN A YARD SALE AT FRIENDSHIP ARMS APARTMENTS:
The Friendship Arms Community Fellowship for the Senior and Disabled Citizens of Hyattsville is sponsoring a yard sale and invites interested Hyattsville residents to rent a table for only $5.00. If you have items you want to sell as a part of this yard sale event at Friendship Arms (5805 42 nd Avenue) contact Pat at 301-927-9434. The Friendship Arms Yard Sale will run on the same day and time as the Hyattsville Community Yard Sale on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

AT THE END OF THE DAY:
The Lupus Foundation has generously offered to assist with Hyattsville's Community Yard Sale event by removing unsold household items from Friendship Arms and from registered homes after the close of the event. When you call the City Office to register your home for the yard sale, you must indicate if you want the Lupus Foundation to collect your usable, unsold items. At 2:00 p.m., the items simply need to be placed at the curbline labeled "LUPUS FOUNDATION" for collection. A receipt for tax purposes will be provided upon request by the Lupus Foundation.
