Households in the City of Hyattsville (does not include commercial properties or multi-family apartments) are invited to participate in the Mary Prangley Hyattsville Clean-Up Day. All residents are encouraged to clean their curb line and sidewalks and to rid their properties of bulk trash.

To participate in this spring-cleaning activity on Saturday, April 19, all bulk trash must be placed at the curb line by 9:00 a.m. in order to be collected. The City's Department of Public Works (DPW) Solid Waste Division will begin collecting this waste at 9:00 a.m. and will make one pass through the City.

The following items will be collected:
Household Items (furniture, mattresses, etc.)
Branches (tree branches should not exceed four feet in length and must be tied in bundles or placed in containers to be collected)
Grass Clippings
Leaves (place your small yard clippings in paper bags, boxes or trash cans)

The following items are not acceptable:
Hazardous Materials (paint, paint thinner, solvents, pesticides, motor oil, etc.)
Automobile Parts
Construction Debris (wallboard, concrete, asphalt, roofing material, tiles, etc.)

The following items are considered special bulk trash and will not be collected:
White Goods (refrigerators, washing machines, hot water heaters, air conditioners)
Tires
