The CDC’s signature project is the rehabilitation of 4318 Gallatin Street: where we serve as the project lead and construction manager for the renovation and construction of the new municipal meeting center at 4318 Gallatin Street.  This facility is planned by the City of Hyattsville to ultimately serve many functions: Community meeting space for Hyattsville residents and local civic groups; Potential office space to house several local non-profits (including Anacostia Trails Heritage Area (ATHA)) whose target service area is Hyattsville at large and the Route 1 Corridor; A Visitor’s Center focused on Heritage Tourism; As a Performance space serving all of the residents of the City of Hyattsville and adjoining nearby communities.

The facility is planned as a public facility and general community amenity available to serve the City of Hyattsville at-large and is part of a larger revitalization effort in the Route 1 corridor. Additionally, the Arcade, Hyattsville’s future Municipal Annex is located in the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Revitalization Area, Prince George’s County, and is part of the Gateway Arts District, a County-Designated Enterprise Zone in which the CDBG program is a recognized tool to strengthen the economic base and improve public facilities. By the provision of performance space to the Community at-large the City of Hyattsville and the Hyattsville CDC are furthering the Revitalization goals and strategy envisioned by the Gateway Arts District Sector Plan to create arts-production friendly venues as a means to attract investment and economic activity.
